Not only for security enhancement, Co.op Mart Supermarket also wants to efficiently monitor the employees, and site activities at its branches across the nation. Furthermore, they are thinking of collecting the customer behavior information to facilitate the development of business plans such as planning optimal shopping routes. Taitouch, VIVOTEK's distributor in Vietnam, successfully designed and installed an IP surveillance system made up of 2,500 VIVOTEK network cameras with a centralized management solution, in the chain marts.
The network cameras being installed were IP7131s, FD7131s and PZ6122s, with places of interest such as the cash desk, high value products and the aisles. The IP7131s were mainly installed in low light areas because the cameras offer superior low light performance. To give an overview of the store, the PZ6122s boasting 720° pan and 110° tilt were installed. The supermarket also installed the PZ6122s nearby the cash registers for enhanced security because their 10x zoom capability can provide close-ups of individuals in this area. The FD7131s were placed in the warehouses and outside the staff rooms. Their PIR sensors made them especially suitable for detecting unauthorized access to these restricted areas.
The installed IP surveillance system drastically enhances the security levels in the stores. The manager can monitor each store simultaneously with ease, especially the hot spots for shoplifting or robberies. The video data is used in developing business strategies, such as planning more ideal shelf layouts, shopping routes, merchandise display, etc.
"We are very satisfied with the increased security and management efficiency." Co.op Mart Supermarket commented, "VIVOTEK provided us with a reliable IP surveillance system. We can better get hold of the employees at work and ensure a safer shopping environment for our customers."
