Video surveillance solution in agricultural cooperative

Surveillance cameras monitor factory

Airlive IP cameras monitor agricultural cooperative

Cooperativa Agrícola Tandil, an agricultural company, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, needed a centralised video surveillance solution to monitor their silo plants located at a distance of five kilometres outside of town. The monitoring system was required to cover five hectares occupying the cooperative's premises, whilst the internal distance between the camera and the monitoring station was about 500 metres.

According to integrators Alejandro Fernandez and Claudio Salvi, project managers, the biggest challenge was to strategically place the cameras and links to achieve stable communication between the camera and the monitoring station.

In order to connect the Airlive BU-3025 and BC-5010-4MM IP cameras, eight Airmax5N 5GHz CPE were installed and linked to the LAN, achieving a high quality wireless signal.

The Airlive BU-3025 provides monitoring for both indoor and outdoor 24 hour applications, even under adverse weather conditions, and is built with a high-resolution CMOS sensor with infrared LEDs that offer a large range of 25 metres. Meanwhile, the BC-5010 provides a resolution of 5 megapixels quality images and great flexibility through varifocal lenses. In addition with a casing specifically for outside usage they utilised the ACC-Boxcam-IR30.

The cameras placed inside the booth were of particular note, where the goods are unloaded and weight checked. Here it can now be substantiated that the merchandise ordered is the same as the goods that are discharged into the system.

After various tests with the Airlive teams, the system was confirmed as functioning well and the cooperative can now display all its facilities properly. Furthermore, the solution provided offers great functionality especially in terms of controlling grain to farm income. They are able to verify that the quantities arriving on the site are the same as those that are sent to final storage. This helps to prevent any leakage of goods either due to short shipment or any theft by staff.

It should be mentioned that company managers can view what happens live with every truck that enters the premises and in total comfort remotely. At the same time, those responsible for the security staff can control the flow through the property.

After completing the installation and with the success of this original project, according to the company, it is now highly probable that the company will require similar work to be carried out and for additional IP cameras to be installed at other locations throughout the business.
