Video solution allows customers to migrate to an IP system

Herlev (Denmark)

HI SEC has released an all new stand-alone Symmetry Video Management Solution. The Symmetry Video Management software is an open video management platform for digital video recorders and IP cameras. The open platform allows it to be integrated with market leading DVRs to provide a flexible security solution for any application.

The software works with HISEC's new Symmetry Edge Network Video Server (ENVSTM) that provides a unique store and forward solution that saves bandwidth. Store video at the edge of the LAN/WAN and forward when convenient, allowing for archiving to take place at off-peak times or when you choose. This provides the scalability and flexibility to meet the demands of many applications while reducing stress on the network. Decrease the amount of bandwidth required during peak operating times. A unique characteristic for cameras allows them to use a maximum bandwidth. 80GBs of storage allows plenty of room to store all desired activity. The Symmetry ENVS comes in one or four channel models.
"HISEC's Symmetry Video Management solution and Symmetry ENVS technology allows customers to use IP cameras or allows customers to upgrade to digital technology at their own pace, providing a flexible, affordable solution," said HISEC Managing Director, Martin Hildebrandt.
Now HISEC customers can save money as they upgrade their technology to digital. Symmetry supports the migration from analog to digital technology for any application.
The Symmetry ENVS provides one or four channels of video and frame rates of up to 30 frames per second depending on the model and configuration selected. It is controlled by the Symmetry Video Management software which also integrates IP cameras and HTML web cams.
The servers are based on Texas Instruments' high performance DM642 digital media processor.
"We are delighted to be selected by HI SEC as a preferred technology supplier to power their state-of-the-art IP based video security systems," said Cyril Clocher, business development manager of TI DSP group in Europe. "The high-performance and cost-effectiveness of the DM642 DSP is a perfect match for the intensive processing requirements of the digital IP video server and is a further example of how technology from TI is helping to power innovation for the video security market."
The Symmetry Video Management solution is available as a stand-alone system and offers the following benefits:

• Scheduled and event based recording saves hard drive space and network bandwidth
• Integration with Symmetry ENVS, IP cameras and third party DVRs in a single solution.
• Control door activity by visually confirming users prior to allowing them access.
• Supports advanced CCTV functionality.
• Record video immediately prior and after alarm events.
• Immediately view live activity with automatic pop-up video alarm feature.
• Combined surveillance and video verification.
