Ultra WDR-camera from Honeywell

Runcorn, UK

Honeywell launch the HCU484X Ultra Wide Dynamic camera designed to provide superior performance in high-contrast environments and extreme back-lit scenes.

While many surveillance cameras struggle to distinguish detail in areas that suffer from extreme backlighting, the Honeywell HCU484X Ultra Wide Dynamic camera provides highly detailed images regardless of the light level. The wide dynamic range image management feature provides 102 - 120dB of range for image capture, allowing the camera to provide a complete, colour exposure of a scene.

To allow ease of installation, the HCU484X camera comes with seven preset functions, making it a simple task to install the camera into specific environments such as ATM machines, loading bays or lobbies. At the touch of a button, users are able to dictate whether the camera focuses on a whole scene, specific aspects of it, or areas of glare and bright lighting such as number plates, or brightly lit doorways and exits.

"The HCU484X camera is an intuitive and effective surveillance solution for users across a wide variety of different environments" says Chris Koetsier, EMEA marketing leader for Honeywell Systems Group "Whether for casinos, banks, supermarkets or hotels, the camera is easy to install and provides high quality surveillance in areas of contrasting light where it may previously have been difficult to distinguish individuals or objects"

For quick set-up and remote maintenance of the camera, without having to travel to the physical location of the camera, it can also be accessed using a keyboard or DVR over a RS485 network.

Additional features of the HCU484X include controls for resolution, colour saturation and sharpness adjustment, allowing users to modify the camera's image as desired, while maintaining the wide dynamic benefits. A day/night set-up mode means the camera can send a black and white image in low light conditions, thereby reducing noise and hard drive demands.
