Suprema releases a new fingerprint PC SDK featuring faster matching and .NET support.

Seoul, South Korea

Suprema has released a new version of UniFingerT PC SDK Version 2.5 featuring a faster fingerprint identification speed and support for .NET framework.

UniFinger PC SDK is a software development kit for developers of PC based fingerprint applications. The SDK is used together with a USB fingerprint scanner for various purposes including time attendance, desktop security, POS and ATM.
The new SDK has been added with two main features. The first is the support for .NET class library. The class library hides all the technical intricacies and provides well-defined APIs. To help developers of all .NET languages, the source codes of an example application are provided in C#, VB.NET, and ASP.NET. It also adds new functions such as database management and image manipulation.
The other key feature is much faster 1:N matching algorithm. The 1:N matching speed gets faster more than three times compared to the previous version. Moreover, the new SDK supports a "Fast mode" that presents a even faster matching speed in sacrifice of a little higher false reject rate. In the Fast mode, the new SDK can process more than 10,000 matches per second in PC (Pentium IV 3 GHz dual core processor).
The SDK is also upgraded to make full use of dual-core processors. By using multi-threaded algorithm, the performance gets another boost with the power of dual-core processors.
