GOVSEC is dedicated to homeland security and the protection of people, goods and data. Next to a complete overview of suppliers of products and services, it offers a high value conference program with competent speakers from home and abroad. Every year, the event grows with over 25%, making GOVSEC the most important professional rendezvous for everybody involved in security matters.
GOVSEC coincides with LAW ENFORCEMENT Conference & Exposition, the national convention for law enforcement officials, and READY! - the Emergency Preparedness and Response Conference & Exposition, the trade event for first responders.
"All over the world, governments have to deal with similar security challenges", says deputy director David Boon of Brussels Expo. "GOVSEC is a format that gives security professionals complete and up-to-date solutions to their questions. GOVSEC is both an intensive learning experience, with a line-up of international experts in several fields and disciplines, and a trade show that has all the innovations and trend setters on board."
Choosing Brussels as the home base for the European edition of GOVSEC EUROPE / LAW ENFORCEMENT EUROPE / READY! EUROPE was an obvious decision. The city has the second highest concentration of diplomatic missions in the world. It hosts the NATO headquarters, the European Commission and hundreds of multinationals for whom security is an important issue.
"I am truly delighted to see this event come to our city", said mayor Freddy Thielemans of Brussels during the signing ceremony. "For the local government and for the numerous international organizations that operate from Brussels, security is a daily concern. The expertise that we have gathered up to now will no doubt be enriched by the insights GOVSEC will give us."
GOVSEC EUROPE / LAW ENFORCEMENT EUROPE / READY! EUROPE will be the first event organized by a dedicated team in the International Department of Brussels Expo. "Although over the years, the Brussels Expo team has gathered an invaluable expertise, it will be the first time in our 75 year existence we actually take on the role of show organizer", says David Boon. "We have been appreciated as venue managers; now we have gone one step further by creating an International Department that will take care of GOVSEC and a number of other events abroad."
GOVSEC EUROPE / LAW ENFORCEMENT EUROPE / READY! EUROPE will cover all aspects of safety and security, law enforcement and emergency services. An appealing and varied conference program for the three main sections should be able to attract key players from across Europe. In comparison to the North-American market, Europe is much less homogenous as to security issues. But that is likely to be the main attraction of the event. Every authority has its own strategy and solutions to face security problems. In June 2007, Brussels will give them a unique opportunity to share their insights with those of colleagues from across Europe.
GOVSEC EUROPE / LAW ENFORCEMENT EUROPE / READY! EUROPE will be organized by the International Department of Brussels Expo. The department is managed by deputy-director David Boon and management attaché Vincent Dewez, formerly marketing & communication manager with Brussels Fairs & Exhibitions.
GOVSEC EUROPE / LAW ENFORCEMENT EUROPE / READY! EUROPE takes place on 6th and 7th June 2007 at Brussels Expo, Belgium.
