This is the fourth consecutive year that the HKEIA Award goes to TeleEye technology products. Moreover, this is the first time that TeleEye has received the Grand Award, top honour in the HKEIA Award.
The HKEIA Award was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), organiser of Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia. It aims to recognise and reward companies that achieve excellence of product design, technology and features. The HKEIA Award was announced and presented during tAsia's largest, and the world's second largest electronics show, Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

Unlike traditional video coders such as MPEG-4, SMAC-M compresses incoming analogue video and outputs 5 optimal and independent digital video streams instead of a single one. The first video stream of an SMAC-M coder is reserved for real-time video recording. The other four video streams are designed for efficient transmission through LAN, broadband Internet, phone line and mobile channels. The separate data streams for recording and transmission lead to optimum performance for TeleEye RX on both aspects in all media. RX with SMAC-M technology records 60% longer than MPEG-4 DVR and 4 times longer than MJPEG or JPEG2000 DVR.
TeleEye RX Series carries two ranges of professional digital video recording transmitters, RX360 and RX330 Series. It is incorporated with revolutionary multi-rate video coding technology SMAC-M. With built-in CD-writer, removable hard drive and composite video output design, RX360 makes the recording, storage, retrieval and video monitoring much simple and flexible. RX330 is an all-in-one triplex operating system supporting up to two internal hard drives and composite video output design. Recording rate can attain up to 50/60fps at D1 resolution while video transmission on LAN can achieve 25/30fps. TeleEye RX Series is one of the first video recording transmitters in the world that is compliant to the recognised British Code of Practice BS 8418:2003.
