During Security Essen 2014 Seetec AG and IPS Intelligent Video Analytics have kicked off a joint partnership for intelligent video surveillance.

This partnership means that the open platform approach of the Seetec Cayuga video management software is now combined with certified camera-based video analytics from IPS. This allows end customers to apply the solutions of two leading European manufacturers in one joint system approach.

IPS has been providing video analysis algorithms to be installed on the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) since 2012, enabling customers to run video analysis on devices such as cameras and video-encoders without loss of performance. The open interface architecture of ACAP-based solutions by IPS enables a very simple integration with the full set of features. With the Seetec Analytics Interface (SAI) Seetec Cayuga also provides an open and standardised interface, which can be used to embed the five IPS algorithms available on ACAP into the video management software.

Albert Unterberger, Director IPS, is happy about the start of this partnership: "With this new partnership IPS and Seetec, two German companies with many years of experience and competence in the IP video market, join forces. For us this cooperation means a logical step in order to make IPS video analysis available to a wider range of customers via integrations in third party solutions."

Christian Ringler, Head of Sales at Seetec, agrees: "We are noticing a trend in the security market towards best-of-breed multi-vendor solutions, which can be tailored to the specific requirements of a customer. The Seetec Multi Solution Platform and the Seetec Analytics Interface provide the perfect basis for this. We are glad that with IPS we have found a strong partner for video analysis."
