Being able to integrate different multi-vendor components such as IP and IP DECT telephones, plus soft phones on PDA's and PC's, or indeed any other kind of telephone equipment, Stentofon AlphaCom E provides the possibility of building a tailored security communication system suited for each environment and each situation.

Close R&D cooperation with Siemens Building Technologies is one way Zenitel Norway has made the development of improved integrated solutions possible. The integration between Stentofon AlphaCom E and MM8000 is an example of this successful cooperation and has resulted in the release of an OPC server for the AlphaCom E, implementing OPC Alarm and Events and OPC Data Access objects. The OPC server is standards compliant and has also successfully been used with Honeywell's EBI (Enterprise Building Integrator), a powerful integrated facility management solution that makes an entire business more efficient and productive.

It's through using SIP that integration with telephone systems become possible. Stentofon AlphaCom E, the first intercom system on the market to support SIP, is actually able to integrate directly with IP DECT telephones without the need of a PBX. By using SIP enabled IP DECT telephone systems, a portable telephone becomes an extension of the AlphaCom E exchange, and can act in many ways similar to a physical intercom station, with calling number display, and access to group and all call features. When a person is not present at his desk, the call can be forwarded to his IP DECT telephone. This gives users seamless mobility; a key factor especially important for those who need to work while on the move.

In addition to its proven interoperability in connecting directly to SIP enabled telephone systems, AlphaCom E also connects with a wide range of SIP gateways to analogue or ISDN telephones or telephone systems.

In partnering with AMAG, a leading manufacturer of security management systems and part of G4Tec, an AMAG/Stentofon intercom integration package is now created. The package provides a graphical intercom call station connection and logging capability from within the AMAG 625 Access Control and Security Management System. Intercom call requests, connections and status are all shown on one easy to use screen and call stations may be grouped and routed to an unrestricted number of client machines. This is especially useful for busy sites with a large number of stations installed. The operator can make and receive intercom calls, plus log intercom activity, and extensive history reporting capabilities provide the operator with accurate call station connection information.

Lenel's OnGuard's intercom interface allows for secondary annunciation of intercom calls, events, and alarms to appear in the main alarm monitoring view. Alarms can be linked to digital video, global I/O activity, and OnGuard's audit trail. With AlphaCom E's Ethernet ports, direct connection to the customer's IP network is possible for integration to Lenel OnGuard.

Stentofon`s IP communication solution is a true native IP product designed from the ground up to offer all the benefits of IP. The solution provides voice, image and data links by using standard Ethernet network architecture allowing integration of all streams into one cohesive solution. The system employs standard VoIP protocols for audio encoding and control, and utilizes standard TCP/IP protocols for video and data transmissions, providing an area-wide network.

Overall it delivers a modular architecture to accommodate growth and change offering a variety of features that can be added as needed, including networking capabilities to extend the system geographically and to interface with other systems. Improving cost and service efficiencies, installation and system operations and providing full backwards compatibility, AlphaCom E is set to provide customers with a flexible and reliable integrated communication system for some time to come.
