Scalable full HD Vectis surveillance system

The new Vectis HX NVS software package from Siemens Building Technologies allows monitoring and recording of images from up to 64 IP cameras per network.
For IP cameras from Siemens, Vectis HX NVS also provides full remote control capabilities, including PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) control. In addition, ONVIF support allows the connection of third-party cameras that are compliant with this widely used open standard.

Developed by the Security Products business segment, Vectis HX NVS software runs on standard PCs and is infinitely scalable – from a single camera up to 64 cameras at a single or multiple sites. It uses the latest H.264 video compression technology to deliver high-resolution images that take up very little hard disk space. This allows for optimised streaming of images even over network connections with limited bandwidth. HD support ensures highly detailed images which can be readily explored using the software's digital zoom capabilities.

The search functions provided by Vectis HX NVS make finding specific images fast and easy. Operators can search by time and date, by particular events, by individual cameras, and by system log entries. In addition, masks can be defined for filtering images so that only images with activity in a specific area need to be viewed.

As a pentaplex system, Vectis HX NVS can record and display live images while simultaneously replaying previously recorded images. Defining alarm scenarios and responses is easy, allowing the system to, for example, automatically zoom in on a specific area and increase the recording rate in response to an alarm trigger.

Despite its versatility and advanced capabilities, Vectis software is easy to install and use. It offers plug-and-play functionality and is ready as soon as the cameras have been set up. Since the software supports a wide range of recording rates and resolution options, it can easily be matched to the hardware in use.
