Saab showcases security solution for airport security chiefs

Arlanda, Sweden

35 security chiefs, from airports across Europe, have visited Saab to gain an insight into how the use of new solutions has increased security at two Swedish airports. The visit was arranged in connection with ACI Avsec's spring conference.

During their visit the guests got to see a demonstration showing how Saab's security systems are being used by Securitas at Arlanda and Bromma airports. The day was introduced by Saab Security's business unit manager, Gunilla Fransson, and the head of security at Arlanda, Anders Lennerman.

"I think that it is valuable to be able to share our experiences in such a way," says Anders Lennerman. "We have both become more efficient, and at the same time we have increased security at our airports thanks to the partnerships with Saab and Securitas."

"I agree completely with Anders, and for us it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our capabilities in this way with both a partner and a customer," says Gunilla Fransson.

The hosting duties were shared by Securitas Aviations' newly appointed country product manager, Ludmilla Lindecrantz.

"I think it's really exciting to be able to participate in a forum like this so early in my new role. Meetings such as these forge valuable network ties and valuable information is shared. I look forward to continuing our partnership with Saab.

Saab's airport security concept is a complete security solution covering every airport requirement, from perimeter protection to baggage surveillance. By creating a common infrastructure for all surveillance and combining them in a command and control system, a common situational picture is created. Using mobile solutions, information from the command and control centre can be shared with all security personnel, so that everyone always has the information they need. Such a security solution makes it possible to reduce costs, without compromising safety.
