This seminar had called in most security experts, industrial enterprises and representatives to participate and discuss the application of high-definition video monitoring in urban construction and had a deeply analytical approach to local security technology developments and needs. They also discussed key points around urban security construction and the future development trends for security video monitoring amongst other things.

A speech delivered by Mr. Qiu Xiaoshuan, the Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Public Security and Protection Association, said "According to the Guangdong Province Social security video surveillance system construction three-year plan ( 2012-2014 ) , in response to government requirements, all cities in Guangdong Province are now stepping up social security video surveillance systems."

For further understanding of social security video surveillance system construction in the province, the Association conducted a survey on social security surveillance across the Guangdong province. Based on their investigation, though the current security video surveillance systems are now designed as high-end technical solutions , the relevant professions in the construction of security video surveillance system may be not always be so familiar with state-of-art technology and the latest product developments. According to this industrial survey, the Association orientated this technology seminar to strengthen participant knowledge with the latest technology and know-how on the video surveillance system.

Huawei Technologies and Qihan Technology shared their knowlege on Safe City Solutions and HDFDI (high-definition optical digital interface) protocol respectively to the industry.

Huawei’s development processor is the major element to innovate the flagship products and safe city solutions. Because of the advantages of the chipset in network accessing, transmission, switching, platform operations, cloud storage, and relevant areas, Huawei can provide a set of solutions from front-end video surveillance, network platform management, to storage devices. At the occasion, Huawei also launched the VCN30000 to solve the network video storage problem . Mr. Li xianjun, Senior Product Manager of Huawei, gave a detailed presentation to introduce the advantages of the VCN30000 from construction costs, floor space , energy consumption and deployment time so on.

As an emerging enterprises in the security industry, Qihan Technology was to introduce its in-house-developed processors with a full range of products that include IPC, HD-SDI cameras, NVR/DVR, HD-SDI DVR, HDFDI camera, PTZ dome camera and so on. In this technical seminar, Qihan also highlighted their high-definition optical digital interface (HDFDI) protocol. Their presentation was focused on solving high-definition video access, transmission and networking that is not just for high-definition video security industry, but also extended to commercial, military and other communications.

The HDFDI protocol is based on the Fibre Channel and SMPTE protocol; it is an interface protocol which was developed for the current high-definition video access, transmission and networking issues. Thanks to a new generation of high-speed interconnection technology, the cutting-edge protocol features rich characteristics such as low latency, high-bandwidth, high-speed, anti-interference ability, long transmission distance and less transmission loss.

Qihan delivered a complete introduction about the advantages of this protocol from all aspects of the necessity of building, energy saving, high economic efficiency and more to benefit smooth accessing, transmission, as well as networking for future high-definition video monitoring.

This seminar brought up a comprehensive discussion between the industry experts and participants, including technical problems, and Huawei and Qihan also shared many aspects of dealing with technical problems in the field by conducting thorough on-site communications.
