Power over link solves Ethernet cabling and power problems

Etherwan has released a solution which solves the problem of connecting an IP camera, controller, radio or other device to an Ethernet network when the distance is just a bit too far and there is no way to power the device where it is located.
The Etherwan ED3638 is a set of hardened 10/100Base-TX PoL/PoE Ethernet extenders that could extend both power and Ethernet over coaxial cable.

The ED3638 is a solution that supports 802.3at/802.af over Ethernet with a 100Mbps transmission rate and 30W PoE up to 400 metres (1312ft). A 2KV surge protection on PoL will be generated and provided. It will effectively extend the transmission of Power and Ethernet data over coaxial cable up to 1.8 Km (5905 ft.).

Compared to the typical PoE standard which supports data and power transmission for up to ony 100 metres over Ethernet cable, with the ED3638, users do not have to change their existing cable and worry about the distance anymore.
