Patent litigation ends in licensing agreement

Hong Kong, China and NY, USA

Xerafy, a international leading player and innovator of RFID metal tags, announced today the patent litigation Xerafy filed against Sensestone Technology and Zhejiang Jiakang Electronics in the Southern District of New York has been amicably resolved.

Under the terms of the confidential settlement agreement, Sensestone Technology and Zhejiang Jiakang Electronics have agreed to take a non-exclusive license to the RFID ceramic tag technology disclosed in Xerafy’s U.S. Patent 8,678,295, and will continue to manufacture and commercialise finished ceramic RFID tags in the United States pursuant to that license.

“We are pleased to have reached a licensing agreement with Sensestone Technology and Zhejiang Jiakang Electronics to allow access to our RFID ceramic tag technology by more customers,” said Xerafy founder and CEO, Dennis Khoo. “Whether it’s the world’s first sub-millimeter read on-metal smart label, the first ever RFID tag for downhole pipe identification, or the smallest RFID tag no bigger than a grain of rice, Xerafy’s commitment to innovation has continued to disrupt the marketplace and has opened up new possibilities for our customers to track assets in areas previously deemed impossible.”

Terms of the license agreement and settlement are confidential.
