Optional way of storage to GV-DVR

Taipei, Taiwan

GeoVision Inc introduces a new flash product named GV-DOM (Disk on Module) as optional storage for GV-DVR systems. The GV-DOM will mainly be used to store the GV-DVR system's Windows XP embedded operating system and GeoVision's surveillance software, while the HDD will continue to preserve video contents. The hybrid technologies in storage devices have made it possible to combine HDD and DOM in a GV-DVR system to further optimize the system's performance.

DOM, or known as flash storage device, has become a viable alternative to HDD thanks to the good performance in stability, better heat dissipation, and less power consumption compared to HDD. DOM can resist shock and vibration and thus reducing the risk of damage. Nevertheless in the applications that require large amounts of storage, HDD remain applicable as a storage solution with its improvements in high capacities with good performance and competitive pricing. GeoVision utilizes the hybrid benefits of HDD and DOM and introduce the GV-DOM as an integrated flash storage device for the GV-DVR system.

Some hybrid benefits of the GV-DOM used for HDD-based GV-DVR system include:

- More stable system environment, lower damage rate and longer life (higher MTBF ratings around 4,130,674 hours)
- Less power consumption and better heat dissipation performance
- Provides more than 5 million write/erase cycles for reliable data storage over an extended period
- Guaranteed data integrity even after power loss
- Transparent bad-block management
- Anti-Vibration: 10 Hz to 500 Hz, 5 g, 3 axes, 30 minutes
- Mechanical Shock Duration: 11 ms, 50 g, 3 axes, 18 times
