Optex Accurance 3D piggybacking detection system

Maidenhead, Berkshire (UK)

Optex Accurance system for detetion of piggybacking and tailgating in authorised access situations

Recently launched at Ifsec in London, the Accurance 3D is the latest piggybacking and tailgating detection solution from Optex that provides an additional layer of security to the access control system in place.

The system will detect situations where a person is piggybacking or quickly following another one who has gained authorised access; it would also detect when a person is entering a secure area while another is exiting.

The Accurance 3D system is using so called time of flight technology that is unaffected by lighting conditions or by heat. This technology combines an illuminator sending an invisible light to the detection area and a sensor that measures the distance travelled by the light from the objects encountered back to the sensor. This system allows to map all detected objects in 3D. The control box software will then colour code the height of the objects to make it visually easier to identify the type of objects detected such as a person and a trolley for instance.

The system has been designed to increase the security of controlled areas and is suited for single door, circular door and airlock systems as well as any type of turnstiles.
