ONVIF to host IP interoperability standards panel at Ifsec
Birmingham, West Midlands (UK)
Andersson will be joined by panelists Gary Wong, Senior Research Analyst, Video Surveillance & Security Services, IMS Research and Ross Dorman, Managing Director for Chordell Solutions, an Oxford, UK-based systems integration consultancy. The discussion will be moderated by Mark Rowe, Editor, Professional Security Magazine. The panel will take place today a.m. in the Toute Suite room of the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.
In addition to the panel discussion, Andersson will be presenting as part of Ifsec’s Next Generation CCTV Theatre, where he’ll discuss the industry’s growing adoption of its IP video specification and the expected benefits of ONVIF’s expansion into access control. This session will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 Wednesday, May 16 in Hall 5 of the NEC.
The pair of events at Ifsec continues to raise the profile of interoperability specifications in the industry. In late March, in conjunction with the ISC West trade show and conference in Las Vegas, ONVIF hosted its fifth successful demonstration to showcase interoperability between devices from disparate manufacturers. That event drew nearly 200 attendees and demonstrated technology from a host of network video firms that have incorporated the ONVIF specification into their product portfolios.
