Next-gen AI deep learning surveillance solution

Taipei, Taiwan

As one of the members of the TSSIA, Iron Yun will be exhibiting at the next Secon 2019 show, a member of the Ifsec Global group, in Seoul, Korea.

Iron Yun AI NVR AI video analytic system is thought to be one of the industry's first artificial intelligence solutions designed for video surveillance with a simple and easy-to-use user interface. This built-in, pre-trained artificial intelligence analytics of software and hardware is capable of fast, efficient identification and search of video objects.

Guaranteeing safety is always one of the highest-priority issues for governments, business organisations and all citizens. Iron Yun AI NVR is based on cutting-edge artificial intelligence and deep learning technology. This all-in-one AI system helps public security agencies, such as police departments, and enterprises address the problems of traditional video surveillance systems and enhance safety.

The AI NVR overcomes the challenges of many complex environments and is fully integrated with AI video analytics features for various markets, including perimeter protection of businesses, access control for campuses and airports, management of shopping centres and parking lots, etc.

Traditional computer-vision-algorithm-based intrusion detection systems detect intrusion events based solely on the size of the intrusion objects; similarly, motion-based intrusion detection systems cannot distinguish beyond stationary versus moving objects. Hence, those traditional systems may generate many false alerts, resulting in high cost and wasted time. The AI-based intrusion detection system from Iron Yun AI NVR significantly reduces false alerts by identifying intrusion events based on object types (vehicle, person), colours and quantities. For example, if an animal enters the person-detection Region-of-Interest (ROI), alerts will not be triggered.

AI NVR's face search facility enables the rapid search of a person in a video footage based on an inputted face image or real-time streaming of the person’s face. The face search algorithm compares the targeted face against all faces in the recorded videos and not against a known face database to safeguard personal identities. Typical use cases include searching for a missing child or elderly person in a shopping mall.

To detect a specific person, the face recognition function can detect and recognise faces in a white- or black-listed person-of-interest database. The unlimited number of lists increases the flexibility for businesses to manage access control and customer experience, e.g., customised services for VIP clients.

Its license plate recognition feature can accurately identify license plates for over 100 countries. To find the target vehicle, the user can perform the search by selecting the specific vehicle type and colour, as well as entering any characters in the license plate to search for potential matches in the database or history record. This function is typically useful for vehicle access control and traffic management.

The AI counting function, also named AI people & vehicle tracking (PVT), in the Iron Yun AI NVR has been engineered to quickly and accurately track and determine the number of people/vehicles in the camera’s field of view. Furthermore, the system can detect abnormal behaviours, such as people/vehicles moving in the wrong direction and people falling down or crouching, and immediately send out notifications in real time. The user can also export the counting statistics for business intelligence (peak hours, traffic flow, number of occupants per unit time, etc.).

According to Iron Yun, the typical return on investment in implementing AI-based video analytics can be expected within months of the installation.
