New USB 2.0 flexible transceivers transmit up to 10Km

Stamford, Ct (USA)

The new USB 2.0 transceivers from American Fibertek allow any USB 2.0 device to be transmitted through a fibre cable network for distances of up to 1 kilometre on a multi mode fibre, and up to 10 kilometres on a single mode fibre.
With the new USB 2.0 transceivers users can now easily remotely deploy a mouse, keyboard and device with VGA output through their fibre network.

These USB 2.0 transceivers feature 4 USB ports with fast transfer rates of up to 480 megabits per second up to a distance of 1 kilometre over multi mode fibre, and 10 kilometres over single mode fibre. It is a fast and simple solution for incorporating USB PCs and peripheral devices into video surveillance system configurations.

The new transceivers are available in module format for field use or in rack card format for control rooms and they are compatible with multi mode or single mode optics. They provide 480 Mb/s high speed transfer rates and deliver a significant bandwidth increase whilst maintaining value added features. The devices are backwards compatible with USB 1.0.
