Etherwan switch supports up to 6 fibre optic ports

Taipei, Taiwan

Etherwan has released a new model, the EX47026, from the EX47000 family, a hardened DIN-mountable unmanaged Ethernet switch supporting full wire speed throughput at 100Mbps, providing sophisticated fibre optic connectivity for as many as 6 ports with SC or ST connectors.

Designed for industrial applications, the EX47026 is able to function with operating temperatures ranging from -40°C to 75°C, and includes high ESD/EMI protection and redundant power inputs , alarms for relay output for notification when power failure or port link down occurs. The EX47026 is housed in ruggedised aluminum enclosure supporting DIN-rail or panel mounting.

Compliant to IEC61850-3, IEEE1613 and EN50121-4 standards, the EX47026 is suitable for network communications in electric utility applications or wayside network connectivity. For example, the EX47026 is suitable for network distributions in wind farms where fibre optics is the preferred media for data transmissions of wind turbines. Etherwan’s EX47026 Ethernet switch is equipped with 6 fibre optic ports and 2 copper ports, which is an ideal configuration to connect the wind turbine into the topology. The EX47026 can also join a redundant chain network to guarantee the best network availability.

The EX47000 Series supports 100-base fibre optic cables with varying and different transmission distances and wavelengths. By implementing the fibre optic network in wind farms, data communications can be carried to miles away while EMI/EMS are all well taken care of from the EX47000 series engineering design.
