National airline contracts for total managment and safety

Zug, Switzerland and Lisbon, Portugal

Portuguese airline TAP has tasked the Siemens Building Technologies Division with the technical maintenance of its buildings and outdoor areas. This includes maintenance of electrical and HVAC equipment (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), emergency lighting and fire and safety equipment.

Airports are critical infrastructures whose operation, safety and security must be guaranteed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disruptions can cause enormous direct and indirect damages and impair safety and security. The preventive maintenance, inspections and periodic functional testing performed by Siemens are essential prerequisites for safe, secure and uninterrupted airport operations. TAP has been a Siemens customer for many years. "We are delighted that TAP has again entrusted us with the maintenance of its buildings. This confirms how satisfied TAP has been with our previous services," says Luis Mourato, Head of Area Lisbon at the Siemens Building Technologies Division.

TAP is Portugal's largest airline. From its hub in Lisbon, it operates flights to over 80 national and international destinations. In 2015, TAP transported 10.7 million passengers.
