Mobility option for incident reporting

Edmonton, Alberta (Canada)

PPM 2000 announce the release of Perspective 1.3. This latest version of the company's flagship application introduces an entry-level option called Perspective Standard, a mobile reporting add-on called Perspective Mobile IDC and integration with DispatchLog, the company's computer-aided dispatching system.

PPM 2000 has often been asked about an entry-level option for Perspective, something with the same quality, design and potential but with less functionality, a streamlined implementation process and a lower price. In response to these requests, PPM 2000 has added a second tier to the Perspective product line. Known as Perspective Standard, or the Standard Edition, it is geared toward organizations that want to limit the scope of their systems to incident management (without an investigation or case component) and whose implementations require less scalability and flexibility. Commented Don Murphy, PPM 2000's president & CEO, "With the release of Perspective Standard, we can meet the incident management needs of more organizations and, most importantly, more of our IRIMS client base. It was a logical step for PPM to take, and we look forward to working with all levels of Perspective as we continue to enhance and expand our Incident Management software line."

With Perspective Mobile IDC and a handheld device, incident data can be collected-while onsite or even en route-for further investigation, follow-up and analysis in Perspective. A step-by-step wizard guides data entry, and Perspective applies a validation process through which each report is reviewed before it is accepted as an official incident. Brian McIlravey, CPP, PPM 2000's vice-president of Professional Services & Business Development, remarked, "Mobile IDC is a vital addition to the Perspective product family, giving Perspective users the opportunity to capture key incident data while still in the field." Perspective Mobile IDC was developed in partnership with FlexSystems, an innovator in the data collection industry with options for guard tour, risk management and fire and safety inspection.

Organizations use Perspective to document incidents for further investigation, analysis and reporting while they use DispatchLog to manage all incoming activities and requests for service-from initiation, to deployment, to response. With the release of Perspective 1.3, clients with both applications can now integrate the two, and, by doing so, they can easily escalate significant activities into incidents, thereby eliminating unnecessary data entry and hastening the follow-up process. Lenora Thomas, PPM 2000's customer service manager, remarked, "A significant number of our clients use DispatchLog to manage activities and dispatch officers. To them, its past integration with IRIMS was invaluable, and it is exciting to now offer the same level of connectivity for Perspective."

With Perspective Version 1.3 and its additions to the Perspective product line-Perspective Standard, Perspective Mobile IDC and Perspective DispatchLog-PPM 2000 continues to demonstrate its commitment to Incident Management software.
