The company believes it is first in the surveillance business to provide such a versatile and powerful portal solution.

In the past, in order to change instructions, place exceptions and other recurring tasks with active camera systems connected to ARC’s the user has had to phone in the changes. With the portal this can now be made easy and securely online. This saves both time and provides a good overview for the user, especially if there are multiple users who can add exceptions, says Hans Djurfeldt.

Mindmancers first online portal was released in 2008. On this portal customers can see camera images, alarm instructions and hard ware status. But now Mindmancer has released a brand new version and has built in the latest technical platform for cloud based services, powered by Windows Azure.

Customers can control all settings and functions for their cameras, alarm zones and instructions from their browser. Customers and partners can also easily access area schematics, installation documentation and alarm history. This enables customers for instance to change the instructions to the central station themselves.

"For customers with many facilities the portal enables easy administration in an efficient and powerful manner. It enables temporary changes, for instance when a school has a sports event, or when the builders are working over the weekend, just with the push of a button. As an added bonus you can schedule this type of activity and thus do it well in advance," says Hans Djurfeldt.

All the functionality on the portal is controlled by roles that determine each user’s rights in accordance with what the customer wants. Different users can therefore see different parts of the portal depending on their set of rights.

"The portal is a great leap forward. Customers can use mobile applications connected to the portal. Furthermore partners such as installation firms, alarm receiving centres, guard companies and others that are connected to guarded sites can easily obtain the information they need. Powered by Windows Azure this solution is at the cutting edge, it does not get more secure then this technical platform so it is a solution witch we can build on for many years to come," concluded Johnny Berlic, CEO at Mindmancer AB.
