Messe Frankfurt expands security portfolio

Frankfurt am Main, Germany

For the first time, Mesago Messe Frankfurt presented EuroID, the trade fair for automated identification, this is the latest addition to the company's portfolio of fairs, which also includes Intersec in Dubai, and Secutech India.
At EuroID some 90 exhibitors presented the latest ID technologies for identification as well as for data collection, recording and transmission in Frankfurt am Main last month. At the ID World International Congress, held concurrently, experts discussed automated identification for banking, retail, health, various forms of automation and cloud computing.

Additionally, at the beginning of September, in order to further strengthen its presence in the Chinese security industry, Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd. created a subsidiary company in Shenzhen in the south of China. The subsidiary is to advertise its portfolio of services for the security industry more intensively, and will be able to offer more extensive services for the Chinese market.

Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Senior Vice President, Messe Frankfurt, comments: "In our modern world, security is coming to play an ever more important role, both at work and in our daily lives. We are meeting this increasing need with a constantly growing number of international trade fairs and congresses. With our specialist trade fairs in the Near and Middle east, Asia and South America we offer access to the world's dynamic growth markets. In Germany we are focusing on high-calibre congresses with an accompanying dedicated exhibition on the issues that face the sector in the future."

According to the company, the six safety and security events organised by Messe Frankfurt and its subsidiary Mesago in the first half year of 2013 have all been extremely successful. In January, Intersec in Dubai, the leading international trade fair for security and fire protection systems in the Middle East, reported record numbers both in terms of exhibitors and visitors: with over 20,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors, Intersec is amongst the world's most important trade fairs for security technology. Occurring in January (19 to 21 January 2014) it provides the start of Messe Frankfurt's annual round of security fairs.

Secutech in Taipei, Taiwan turned in equally convincing results, attracting 510 exhibitors and over 25,000 trade visitors in April. It is Asia's largest trade fair and conference for electronic security, informational security and fire protection systems. Like the other trade fairs that are held under the Secutech brand, it is organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd. The next Secutech will take place from 19 to 21 March 2014 in Taipei.

With 130 exhibitors and some 15,000 trade visitors at its premiere in 2012, Secutech India has established itself as a permanent feature in the growth market of India. The next Secutech India will take place from 27 February to 1 March 2014 in Mumbai. Equally, Secutech Thailand and Secutech Vietnam successfully consolidated their position in their respective regions in the spring of 2013. The next Secutech Thailand in Bangkok will open its doors from 3 to 5 July 2014 and the next Secutech Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, from 20 to 22 August 2014.
