Generally a completed IP surveillance solution includes 4 main parts: IP cameras, transmission, storage and management platform. The system will place a huge demand on storage equipment, particularly with increased numbers of cameras and camera resolution in an IP surveillance project.
The massive storage monitoring solution from GKB consists of their NVR-10M recording server and megapixel cameras, employing the ethernet infrastructure, for IP surveillance. In the system's standalone recording and storage solution, it provides up to 32TB storage space with different RAID for data and power loss protection. It is capable of recording up to 64 x GKB-1.3megapixel cameras and allowing multiple remote users to log in for viewing and playback at the same time.
A 32TB storage capacity provides long duration of recording for high definition cameras. To handle 64 channels of 1.3 megapixel cameras, the storage space may consume 30TB for a 30-day period of continual recording. With such huge storage requirements in a surveillance project, installers may have difficulty in dealing with the storage space as well as with the video archive protection when encountering HDD failure. Data (video archives) storage and protection play a very important role and can take up a large percentage of the cost in a surveillance project.
GKB's solution provides not only IP cameras, but also the standalone NVR-10 with software that supports up to 64 channels of 1.3 megapixel cameras (with or without SD card). The NVR-10 can, not only handle large numbers of cameras but also can achieve different types of RAID for video data protection as well as allowing multiple remote users to log in for live viewing, recording and video retrieval. Furthermore, GKB also offers ISCSI server for external storage extention. It helps installers to obtain the required support and knowledge, as well to easily cross the gap for massive IP data storage in one solution.
