Airlive PoE solution provides resort with efficient Wifi

Taipei, Taiwan and Balearic Islands, Spain

Due to the raising demand for free yet good quality Wifi all over the hotel, Mallorca Resorts began looking for a total solution and Airlive’s Topology Device Managed Switch, POE-GSH2624-370 and Dual Band Ceiling Mount AP, were selected for the job.

In the Tropicana hotel, they chose to use the Airlive Topology PoE switch and 80+ dual band ceiling mount AP. The switches are located in different buildings and SFP fibre connections via the combo ports on the switch were used to connect them together.

AC.TOP is connected and powered by the POE-GSH2624-370. The AC.TOP provides 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi signals concurrently. The 5G band is using 802.11ac technology which can provide a faster and less interference prone Wifi signal. Nevertheless, combing AC.TOP and the Topology POE Switch, together provides the specific functions which allow the owner to manage their Wifi network easier than with other solutions.

The POE-GSH2624-370 Switch provides the topology view without any software requirement; it allows owners to understand their network status in real time. When any PC is disconnected, it can be seen in the switches’ webpage. This also help the hotel managers to understand which devices is connecting or disconnecting into their network. Even for larger projects with heavily connectivity flow, they do not need to use additional or specific tool to draw their designed network.

The POE-GSH2624-370 supports Map view. The owner can upload their floor plan and place the AP’s or cameras on the map to record it easier and more accurate than before. This also saves time finding an AP when it is no responsive.

The last but most important feature of the POE-GSH2624-370 is the Device Managed function for AC.TOP in the Switch. It offers owner to simply log into the switch and check the current topology and client. To see AP’s information the owner just needs to click on the AC.TOP icon, and then they can change all of the AC.TOP’s settings like SSID, security or power output at the same time. They also can check AP’s concurrent users.

Combing Airlive’s managed AP (AC.TOP/N.TOP) and device managed switches (POE-GSH2624-370) provides wide WIfi coverage with easy management and maintenance. The solution is affordable and cost-effective to expand the system with actual needs to grow for future.
