Hayes, Middlesex (UK)

Wavelet Technology has announced the Wavestore OPAL Network Video Recorder for megapixel and network IP camera recording in surveillance & security applications.

OPAL is a low-cost yet powerful and scalable embedded real-time recorder that support most makes of network IP and megapixel cameras, that is easy to set up and simple to run.
Supplied in a small footprint case, OPAL is offered with 250GB or 500GB storage, which can be expanded. It is ideal for factories, process monitoring, service stations, small dealerships, retailers, restaurants, and any site where space is limited or where network cameras are specified.
OPAL will record and display combinations of many network and megapixel cameras simultaneously with up to real-time recording rates on all cameras, and is configurable to record from cameras including Axis, Sony, Arecont, Mobotix, Lumenera and IQinvision, of up to 11 megapixel image resolution.
Wavestore OPAL operates on Linux OS, delivering excellent reliability and reduced susceptibility to virus attacks. Operable over 100Base-T or Gigabyte LAN/WAN networks, OPAL will seamlessly network with any other Wavestore recorders and is scalable up to 256 units.
The standard client (remote viewing) software provides secure internet access to the OPAL recorder from anywhere, with intuitive controls to provide rapid search and playback of recorded video and easy copying of multiple images or video clips.
Around-the-clock recording confidence is assured with the proven design, augmented with a fast power-out recovery in less than 60 seconds, in the event of mains power failure.
The software supports many national languages, including French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Hungarian, Russian, Turkish and Japanese, and other language translations can be prepared and installed.
Claimed to provide the fastest access times to view recorded data, Wavestore users can rapidly go back into vast archives by simple time and date entry or by dragging the unique 'waterfall' recordings display for any camera. Snapshots can be exported into JPEG, PNG or BMP format or printed out directly onto a printer. Selected video clips from multiple cameras can be further copied onto CD-R or DVD-R for playback and review on a PC.
Multiple Wavestore "servers" can be networked over LAN or WAN; able to be monitored either locally or remotely using the powerful client software that is included.
