Large German contingent expected in Dubai

Dubai, U.A.E

Messe Frankfurt Middle East expects more than 1,300 exhibitors from 52 countries (2015: 1,235) at the 18th Intersec in Dubai. One of the world’s biggest trade fairs for safety, security and fire protection opens its doors at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17 to 19 January 2016.

According to organisers, Messe Frankfurt, German exhibitors represent one of the most important exhibitor nations at Intersec 2016. A total of 72 German exhibitors – including 58 at the government-backed German Pavilion, and 14 stand-alone exhibitors – will be headed by big names such as CCTV providers Bosch Security Systems and Grundig; access control specialists Simonsvoss; IT security provider G-Data; fire extinguisher manufacturers Doeka and Viking; and Haix, a manufacturer of safety shoes.

New is a special exhibition area on the subject of the ‘Smart Home and Building Automation’, in addition to the five main themes of commercial safety and security technology, IT security, fire and rescue, safety and health and homeland security and policing.

The largest thematic section with over 600 exhibitors is commercial safety and security technology where trade visitors can see new products from the fields of access control / biometry, monitoring and alarm systems, video surveillance and home and building automation.

Intersec has grown from year to year and reflects the dynamic nature of the sector not only in the Middle East but also worldwide. The 2015 edition of the fair attracted more than 27,000 trade visitors from around 120 countries.

New for Messe Frankfurt this year comes the Intersec Forum, a conference for networked safety and security technology, which will be held in Frankfurt on 14 and 15 March 2016. It will take place concurrently with Light + Building, the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology in Frankfurt am Main (13 to 18 March 2016), and is being organised in cooperation with the German Central Association of Electrical and Information Technology Contractors (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V. – ZVEI).

Under the motto ‘Security meets Smart Building’, the Intersec Forum invites participants to take a look into the immediate future, especially with regard to intelligent building-services technology (smart buildings) and the technological trends for the integration of safety and security technology. Other important themes are standardisation and systems integration.

Ruth Lorenz, Vice President, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition: “We accompany the global safety and security market with a variety of events around the world. Currently, we are represented by eleven events in South America, Africa, Russia and, in particular, Asia. Now, with Intersec Forum, we are bringing the expertise in safety and security technology gained around the world to Frankfurt where the focus will be on the future-oriented safety and security system networks.”
