The Port of Haifa is the largest of Israel’s international seaports. A huge crane is used to move cargo and operating the crane is difficult. As a reslut the Messoa SDF416U has been installed to help provide safety and security as well as to control it. The SDF416U was chosen because it delivered with a reliable IP67 rated water and dust proof housing, and thus is suited for the rough outdoor environment of a seaport. Coastal weather can wreak havoc on cameras. One of the greatest challenges to the port’s surveillance operations is the huge volume of windblown sand.

Surveillance is crucial to prevent theft and ensure the safety of the goods moving through the port. Each crane has four cameras to observe and control it.

The SDF416U utilises Lumii II technology to overcome night time issues. Vandal-proof housing that is IP67 certified is designed specifically for harsh environments. An optional heater maximizes protection of the camera in extremely cold weather. The unique temperature range from -30° to +60°C (-22° to +140°F) is achieved without heating or fan at only 3 watts power consumption.
