Intersec exhibitor and visitor statistics on the up

Dubai, U.A.E

Intersec 2014, according to the organisers, was recognised as the largest security and safety exhibition, not merely in the Middle East, but all across the world in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers as well as from an international viewpoint.
The high-profile show was held under the patronage of, and officially opened by, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Organisers Messe Frankfurt believe that Intersec has always been, and will continue to be, the essential must-attend event for safety, security, fire protection and homeland security. Our track record of growth and progress over 16 years is testament to this fact, and is an indicator of our future impact and reliance.

Exhibitor numbers were up by 22% to 1213 from the previous year and came from 54 different countries. There were 10 exhibition halls this year covering a huge space of 44,000 square metres.  Exhibitors included the participation from many of the worlds most dominant security players such as, Honeywell Security, Bosch Security Systems, Safran (Morpho), Assa Abloy, Hikvision Digital Technology, Flir Systems, Axis Communications, Samsung Techwin, Tyco Security Products and Dahua Technology.

According to post show statistics an impressive 90% of the exhibitors were satisfied with the quality and quantity of the product range, 94% of all Intersec exhibitors recommend participating in the next edition, 95% of exhibitors assessed the current economic situation in their sector as being satisfactory and overall, 86% of exhibitors were satisfied with their participation at the show.

In terms of visitor profile, 24,766 visitors from 126 countries attended the exhibition and conferences demonstrating a 15% increase over all.  Drilling down to the detail of specific areas the results showed a 70% increase in visitor attendance in particular from Africa.  As emerging markets go, when it comes to the safety and security industry, Africa is a continent that holds tremendous potential for growth and this was evidenced at Intersec with such a significant increase in attendance.

The organisers already have more bookings for the 2015 event than they did by this time last year and are positive for another successful show.  The next Intersec will take place once again at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 18-20 January, 2015.
