As the Corona virus becomes an increasingly growing threat around the world, there are growing concerns around organised large group gatherings. Some national and international sports events have already been either postponed or cancelled in several countries.

According to Reuters reports the government in France has imposed a temporary ban on group gatherings of over 5, 000 people in confined places, and in addition, governments are beginning to implement stricter travel restrictions.

The statement from Messe Frankfurt reads, "Due to the increased spread of the corona virus in Europe, Messe Frankfurt decided to postpone Light + Building after intensive consultations. The world's leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology with Intersec Building will take place in Frankfurt am Main from 27 September to 2 October 2020. Existing visitor tickets for March 2020 will also be valid in September 2020."
