Instek Digital debuts Matrivideo serial attached SCSI external storage

Taipei, Taiwan

Instek Digital are releasing their Matrivideo serial attached SCSI (SAS) external storage solution. With the continuing demand for increased video-data storage – SAS it the optimal solution for flexible, scalable and faster video-data storage.
Serial attached SCSI (SAS) is the next generation of the SCSI-interface. It provides increased data-transfer speed of up to 20 times of the traditional SCSI – using the latest SASII interface with a speed of 6GB/s. SAS devices are also connectable to each other – which allow enterprises to create a fast and scalable storage solution for their video-security system.

With this launch – Instek Digital introduces two different types of Serial attached SCSI devices; Matrivideo SAS DAS and Matrivideo SAS JBOD. The main difference between these two devices is the support of RAID-function for the SAS DAS device. SAS DAS is a high performance storage solution with exceptional video-data management. The firmware-embedded web browser-based RAID manager allows local or remote management and configuration. The SMTP manager monitors all system events and user notification automatically. To remotely monitor events via LAN no firmware-embedded SNMP agent is required.

Their Matrivideo SAS JBOD device is a cost-performance solution with higher bandwidth. This device is ideal for high capacity and scalable storage for today’s video surveillance market.

Also to increase data storage capacity – Matrivideo SAS DAS devices can be scaled with multiple Matrivideo SAS JBOD devices. This allows the SAS JBOD devices also to be manageable and supported by RAID-function.
