IFSEC India to take place 25-27 October

New Dehli, India

Recognising the wealth of business opportunities present in India's rapidly developing and largely unpenetrated security solutions sector, IFSEC India is the brand new event developed specifically for India and the neighbouring regions. Taking place from 25-27 October 2007, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India, IFSEC India will cater for a worldwide audience of security buyers and specifiers, and cover all aspects of the security market, including the police and paramilitary sectors. IFSEC India will bring together the most innovative security providers face-to-face with thousands of high-quality visitors from all over the region.

The event will combine IFSEC's 35 years of experience in the security industry, and CMP Asia's knowledge of the local market to provide an event that will cater for the needs of security professionals throughout the South Asian region. As well as numerous feature areas within the exhibition, the show will also include a comprehensive educational programme with a host of free seminar sessions and two conferences covering the hottest security topics from a variety of angles.

The Indian chapter of the Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) will be holding its 14th annual international conference at IFSEC India, under the title, 'Security On Tap: Technology for a Safer Tomorrow'. Attracting over 250 delegates from all across Asia, the conference will present a detailed overview of modern security practices and technologies and will address current security threats and perceptions. A wide range of topics will be covered including: corporate security, risk analysis, the police & private security partnership, security arrangements for the Commonwealth Games 2010, integration of physical security and electronic security systems, aviation security, the Private Security Regulatory Act 2007, surveillance, and crisis and disaster management.

Taking place on 25 October is the Internal Security Conference, entitled 'Meeting the Challenge of Terrorism'. Open only to the police service and organised on behalf of the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPRD), the conference will be chaired by Sir Chris Fox, former president of the Association of chief police officers (ACPO) for England and Wales.

The Internal Security Conference will include presentations from senior UK police officers and staff, who will give an overview of the current situation regarding terrorism in the UK and its links and relevance to international terrorism. Presentations will address the internationalism of terrorism and the challenges of its investigation and detection, including lessons learnt from the UK experiences. It will also cover how technology is now an integral part of the prevention, investigation and detection process with regard to counter terrorism, including the benefits of crime analysis, CCTV and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

IFSEC India has attracted some of the world's leading security manufacturers, distributors and suppliers, to become 'Foundation Partners' of this brand new event. Among these companies are HID, G4S Security Services (UK), Alba Urmet, Siemens and Vista, all of whom will be exhibiting and lending their support to the event.

"I am delighted that IFSEC has chosen India as its first venue outside of the UK as it will allow the security industry to showcase itself. This, in my view, is an acclamation that the Indian security industry has come of age. We convey our best wishes to IFSEC and sincerely hope the industry will support this initiative, as we can all gain from a successful exhibition" says David Hudson, regional president, G4S that has been involved with IFSEC in the UK since its inception.

"We're very pleased to be supporting the launch of IFSEC India 2007. The security industry in India is growing at an incredibly fast rate and we're keen to help bring together major manufacturers, distributors and end-users, to explore the most cutting-edge security products and services. We wish CMP Information great success in this major initiative" says Mr Iqbal Singh Jagdeva, chairman, ASIS International - New Dehli India chapter 207.

The show's floor plan is already over 85% sold out, with over 90 companies signed up to exhibit. Exhibitors will include Axis Communication, Panasonic, Dedicated Micros, CIEFFE, Seagate, IndigoVision and DVTel, to name just a few. Organisations will be travelling from all over the world to take part in IFSEC India, from the UK and India, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, China, Spain, America, Canada, Japan, and Czech Republic.
