Hiqview launches 36ch H.265 NVR

Taipei, Taiwan

Hiqview, a professional network camera manufacturer is releasing the HIQ-3936, a 36-channel network video recorder with H.265, PoE and local display support.

Compared to traditional H.264 codec, H.265 could save bandwidth of up to 50% and also save on file storage. The HIQ-3936 NVR supports video compression formats of H.265 / H.264 / MPEG4 / MJPEG. Extended from the specifications of the HIQ-3925, this model of DVR employs the new H.265 codec technology to provide a higher and much more efficient image compression performance in various applications.

The HIQ-3936 NVR supports 16 PoE ports with a max. 190W power output. This unique feature could allow users to reduce installation material costs and cabling work during the whole installation process. Instead of a using a separate PoE switch and NVR, this single PoE NVR is an excellent choice in terms of budget and space saving, which also makes the management of the whole IP surveillance system much easier.

The HIQ-3936 is designed to support up to 36x 8 megapixel cameras, and a max. internal storage of 48Tb (6Tb x 8) in a single NVR unit. The HIQ-3936 supports a smart HDD detection function and is able to accommodate 8 SATA III HDDs, 2 ESATA HDDs, and RAID 1, 5 (optional) storage. The A/V throughput of the HIQ-3936 is up to 150 Mbps.

The NVR can be operated via a local UI (User Interface) and web UI (User Interface). The UI allows the user to deploy a USB mouse to connect to the network for recording and event management. In addition to the USB mouse, the HIQ-3936 also supports use via a USB keyboard and joystick also allowing the local UI to operate the system. Via the web UI, operation is through just a few clicks on a web browser on a PC to connect to the network and to operate the system.

The E-map facility is also available in the HIQ-3936 web UI, providing instant event notification along with any Hiqview IP cameras’ geographic information. Users can zoom in to a specific region to monitor events from particular cameras within that region. If an event is triggered from a camera located outside of the current viewing area, the E-map moves automatically to the area where the event trigger camera is located.

The 36-channel NVR is equipped with a dual monitor output: HDMI/VGA allowing users to view the videos in their preferred format. There are several split screens supported. It is also possible to view live images and footage via a smart phone or a tablet without the requirement for any additional software.

Other functions such as taking a snapshot of the viewing video, sending and receiving audio and starting to record immediately, can all be launched just through a single mouse-click. The HIQ-3936 has been designed to fulfill various video central management functions, transfer, storage, playback and event alarms, etc. The HIQ-3936 web interface provides the functionality to easily search recorded video by time or by event; the user can stop, pause, fast forward or rewind the playback video anytime. If fractions have been recorded in high resolution, the user can zoom in to view the playback video without losing any detail.

The HIQ-3936 NVR GUI (graphic user interface) is designed based on a “simple and friendly” principle. Through using a web browser on the user's personal computer or mobile devices (e.g., smart phones, PDAs, Ipad, tablets), easy set up and operation of the HIQ-3936 can be achieved remotely. With effective performance and high stability, the HIQ-3936 is suitable for applications in various different scales of a business surveillance system.

For large scale IP surveillance systems, Hiqview provides the HIQ-3936 with a free-bundled CMS (Central Management System) software, which helps to seamlessly control Hiqview's IP cameras and NVRs to form a complete IP surveillance solution to flexibly fulfill different requirements and applications.
