According to Gunnebo it is their reputation for supplying reliable and durable entrance control solutions to the metro sector around the globe which helped Gunnebo India secure the order.

The initial order amounts to over 200,000 EUR and consists of flap-gate units to metro gates to be supplied over the coming months. The order will be produced and supplied from Gunnebo’s Chinese factory in Kunshan.

“This order is of great strategic importance for Gunnebo since it establishes us as a provider of entrance control solutions to the Indian metro sector,” comments Gunnebo’s President and CEO, Per Borgvall. “Over the coming two to three years we expect many important infrastructure projects to be carried out in India, including several large metro projects.”

The solution ordered by Chennai Metro Corporation was initially designed for the KCRC metro system in Hong Kong. Since then it has been installed in multiple high-volume, mass-transit networks in China as well as in several other countries including Singapore, Sweden, Spain and Colombia.
