GJD & Invision get on their bikes for charity

Heywood, Lancashire (UK)

Five employees from GJD and Invision took part in the Diss Cyclathon on Sunday 24th June. The bike ride was to raise money for Nelson’s Journey, which is a Norfolk charity that supports children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.

The Diss Cyclathon included many cycling related activities including rides from 5 miles to 15 miles and the Nine Town Sportive with distances of 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 miles.

Greg Stuttle, GJD’s Business Development Manager and David Meyerowitz from Invision both completed the 100 mile route at an average pace of 16.4 mph. Greg commented: “The Diss CycIathon was a great event, it was lovely to ride through the beautiful countryside, while at the same time raise money for a great cause”.

The 100 mile route takes in all nine towns and is a mix of meandering country lanes, as well as faster, open stretches. David Meyerowitz, Technical Training Manager at Invision commented: “The Diss Cyclathon is a great event. It’s the second time I’ve taken part and I’m looking forward to the next one. The added extra of raising money for Nelsons Journey made the ride even more enjoyable”.

At the time of going to press, between them the cyclists raised £1200 for the charity.
