Geovision secures Belfast college

Belfast, UK

Campbell College Belfast, the largest boarding school in Northern Ireland, has chosen the Geovision security platform, including video surveillance and access control solution to ensure overall security of their campus.
Campbell College has installed access control to secure their new student boarding building with three levels. The project consists of 18 GV-AS400 controllers and 120 swipe readers controlling the forty-seven bedrooms, five common rooms and ten corridor doors.

To meet the clients "green" requirements for the buildings, the access control solution was required to control the lighting, heating and power sockets to each bedroom via a second reader inside the room. This links to four 3-megapixel Geovision IP cameras to provide live monitoring of external doors. The whole system is then connected back to the main school via a secure wireless link for CCTV recording and remote monitoring through Geovision’s centralised management system for large-scale, multi-site video management, the GV-CMS.

"Campbell College selected Deep River Media as the chosen supplier to install the Geovision security platform providing us with both digital CCTV for all buildings set within our 103 acre campus and an access control solution for the new state-of-art boarding building. Campbell is the largest boarding school in Northern Ireland and the duty of care we have to all our pupils requires us to have system which can easily integrate, expand, and upgrade. It provides a valuable tool in ensuring the overall security of our campus", stated Mr. Simon Moody, General Manager - Campbell College.

The system was designed and installed by Deep River Media and includes integration for the lift and the schools internal phone system allowing doors to be opened via certain handsets.
