Geovision’s new vandal proof dome has been designed to handle both day and night conditions well. With the IR LED on and outdoor at night, dust and dirt collected on the glass surface can easily be a problem, because under these conditions when the camera’s IR light is on and there is dust around, the image often ends up shining into the glass resulting in invalid images – this is not an issue with Geovision’s latest vandal-proof Dome V3 (VD-V3). VD-V3 runs on an enhanced design - the IR LEDs cover up to 30-metre IR distance and are placed separately in their own protective shield. It is the ultimate design to avoid IR reflection.

The updated design of the VD-V3 makes installation much easier - firstly, it keeps every cable (power/video/audio, DI & DO) neatly packed in a waterproof rubber tube, so cables will not get in the way during installation. A cable routing gauge on the camera base routes the cables, and the widened gauge and metal sliding board keeps cables neatly packed inside.

The VD-V3 also addresses the problem of ceiling mount, through a short metal wire and cover holding design. The metal wire holds the screws whilst the engineer is installing the device up a ladder, preventing the screws from falling. The camera protective cover is also held in by metal springs, this means that the installer can pull down the module inside and directly plug in the cable, without removing the system from the ceiling.

Other welcome features include a one-button focus motorised lens, PoE-power, and even an L-shaped audio jack. An arctic model is also available with a heater and blower combination built-in for severe weather.
