Geovision hybrid LPR camera

Taipei, Taiwan

Geovision is launching a 1.3 megapixel hybrid license plate recognition (LPR) camera, with 10 metres (32.8 ft) IR LED range, designed to capture high definition vehicle license plate images with a broad field of view.
Geovision has applied great emphasis on its research and development efforts in the field of LPR management systems and cameras, and this recently released hybrid LPR camera (GV-Hybrid LPR camera), is the innovative result of these efforts aimed at the professional market. As the name suggests, the camera outputs both in analogue and digital, when used in digital mode it gives 1.3MP high definition license plate images.

The GV-Hybrid LPR camera is one of the few IP cameras on the market that is specifically designed solely for the purpose of capturing vehicle license plate images. As a result, this means that from the default settings to the auto-adjusts, the camera is aimed at producing high contrast images, avoiding chances of overexposure or hot spot effects, even under challenging day/night lighting conditions, and harsh temperatures. And with its wide field of view, in some cases it could take in as many as two-lanes of traffic, and still with recognisable images for use with the recognition engine.

The camera built to IP66-standards is also good for outdoor installations, and with the built-in heater and fan, it ensures reliable performance at all times.
