G4S completes sale of Finnish business

London, UK and Oslo, Norway

In February we reported that Nordic security group Sector Alarm was in the process of acquiring G4S Finland.  G4S plc, the world’s leading security company and the largest employer on the London stock exchange, has now confirmed that, following customary regulatory clearances, it has completed the sale of G4S Finland to the Nordic security group for an enterprise value of €17.5 million.

G4S is one of Finland’s biggest security companies and is the second business that Sector has acquired in Finland since the beginning of 2016.

Sector Alarm’s strategy is to grow both organically and through acquisitions. Over the last four years they have acquired nine companies, eight of them based in the Nordic region. There is a strong desire and intention at Sector Alarm to play an active role in the consolidation of the Nordic security market. Each acquisition contributes to the creation of a solid platform for future synergies in each country.

For G4S, the sale of the business represents part of the group’s on-going review of its portfolio of businesses to enhance its strategic focus and performance management.

G4S Finland is based in Helsinki and employs approximately 1,800 people. In the year to December 2015 it had revenues of approximately £56 million, covering the manned security, cash handling and technology systems markets.
