Dahua Mobile Solution

Hangzhou, China

Dahua has developed an advanced mobile solution to enable drivers, customers, and taxi & bus companies to deal with safety threats and poor user experience.

The solution is able to save time and energy, and also to deliver a more effective and efficient service. The end-to-end solution uses a reliable video recorder, integrated platform and intelligent technologies to ensure buses and taxis are well guarded and efficiently run.

In recent years, solid growth of urban population has led to a surge in life services demands, creating huge pressure, especially on public services, such as buses and taxis. Public transportation services are closely related to the everyday life of urban citizens. During times of economic downturn, the pressure of survival is soaring. Phenomena like midnight robberies, rude drivers/customers, unacceptable taxi fares and late arrivals are more common than ever. And according to multiple social surveys, commuting has now become a major headache for most urban citizens. Therefore, finding an efficient and reliable solution to control and manage this situation is critical.

The Dahua Mobile Solution consists of front-end camera, recorder, server in a control centre and some other components. The company has launched 3 series to meet different needs -- IP, HDCVI and analogue. The recorders have different appearances, for example wedge dome, mini eyeball and mini dome and so on. The recorder, with a maximum resolution of 5MP, supports IR and IP67. Aside from recording and local storage, the recorder is capable of exchanging data with the platform through 3G/4G/WIFI, including sending video, GPS, alerts and so on in real-time.

The company offers various accessories to support different applications. There is a hand microphone to support two-way communication, a panic button to deal with emergencies, a fuel level sensor to collect fuel consumption and a swipe card reader for drivers to check on work attendance. Dahua also provides a 7-inch screen, an audio pick up, and a protection box. The DSS server is the brain to the Dahua Mobile Solution. - supporting a maximum of a 2000 channel connection, the DSS server is mainly utilised to control and manage the mobile recorder. There are two versions of the server – pure software as well as software and hardware integration to meet the different needs of different customers.

The Dahua Mobile Solution features automatic Wifi backup. Accordingly, the wireless signals in a vehicle will be automatically switched from 4G to Wifi when the vehicle is back to the station. Then video in the recorder will be automatically uploaded to the customer centre at a speed of 10MBps, which will be accelerated to 15MBps in the near future. Wifi-based automatic backup is characterised with high speed, low cost and is labour free, well in line with the trend of backup methodology in customer centres.

The function of People counting through IPC is used to count the number of passengers that step into a vehicle over a period of time. Then through wireless internet, the statistics are sent from the recorder to the platform, which generates reports to look at the flow of people in different time periods. Reports of this kind help operating companies to optimise driving routes and therefore, generate more profit.

The solution has Geo Fence designed into it to verify the driver behaviour regulations are in place. The user can define an area on the digital map in the platform and make some restrictions in that area, such as driving speeds, allowed or forbidden driving areas and so on. This is a practical and intelligent function that will be useful and widely applied in cash carrier and oil tanker projects.

Using advanced technology, the Dahua mobile total solution provides automatic video storage and smart detection under almost any circumstances, be it dark night, heavily raining or during a typhoon. With field successes in many countries, such as Mexico, Turkey and Thailand, this solution, according to Dahua, has been proven efficient and effective in releasing pressure on urban public transportation and improving user experience. In 2013, the City Bus Project in Russia used more than 8000 sets of Dahua Mobile DVR. Currently, in the northeast of Italy, a city bus project is quietly but smoothly going on; a video below demonstrates more.

In order to better fulfill the actual demand of different applications, the mobile solution is subdivided into Bus Mobile Solution, Logistics Mobile Solution, School Car Mobile Solution, Law Enforcement Vehicle Mobile Solution and so on, covering most mobile surveillance business.
