Dahua launches Ultra-Smart network cameras

Hangzhou, China

Dahua Technology has launched the Ultra-Smart network camera series — the DH-IPC-8000-series — offering 3 megapixels in diverse designs and shapes, featuring ultra codec and smart detection.
Ultra codec includes region of interest (ROI), corridor mode, electronic image stabilisation (EIS) and scalable video coding (SVC). ROI allows cameras to enhance image quality of the region of interest by decreasing non-ROI’s image quality to acquire more computing power and bandwidth.

Corridor mode, also known as rotate mode, adjusts the horizontal scene to vertical, saving on cost to a great extent as in a conventional hallway scenario, which is long and narrow, it usually takes a few cameras to cover the monitored area and thus causes unnecessary expense and labour.

EIS ensures the providision of clear images without blur caused by camera shake while SVC saves bandwidth and allocates better network resources by working with NVRs, max 3/4 extra storage space and 3/4 extra storage time could be saved in terms of video storage.

As for smart detection, the Ultra-Smart series supports intelligent analytics such as tripwire, intrusion detection, abandoned/missing, scene change, defocus, facial detection and audio detection, allowing automatic detection under rule making and alarm trigger categories, accordingly.

The first models to be released models are the HF8301E, HFW8301E and HDBW8301 in box, IR-bullet and dome type configurations. The series supports max 25/30fps@3MP encoding and features triple-stream codecs, enabling customised codec configuration, frame rate and bitrate depending on the application and requirements. Two streaming channels can process 1080P resolution while the third is flexible in usage, and can be used for such techniques as live view on mobile devices.

“Embracing intelligent functions is one of the main trends in the industry," said James Wang, Overseas Product Director at Dahua Technology. “With the rapid development of the internet and cloud technology, video surveillance will integrate further and the Ultra-Smart series features new intelligent functions to provide better performance, and a more effective and smarter user experience."
