Compact ruggedised Plustek Solution

Plustek Inc. is launching its new network video recorder (NVR), the Slim388 Pro. Featuring compact, ruggedised, energy-saving and a reliable design, the Slim388 Pro supports the latest Canon innovative and professional network cameras: VB-S, VB-M, VB-H and VB-C series.

Inheriting the compact size and mounting versatility of its proven aluminum alloy casing, the NVR Slim388 Pro provides system integrators and installers with an alternative to reliable local video storage in areas where limited space is available for installation.

According to Chris Lin, product manager at Plustek, "operating temperature in ATMs (Automatic Teller Machine) may reach up to 60°C, which makes it nearly impossible to deploy PC-based NVRs. Plustek’s Slim range are made to withstand the harsh environments and extreme temperatures like in ATMs; in addition, integrated with wide range of market leading professional network cameras with built-in video intelligence such as, Canon’s VB-S series, not only provides high-quality video footage, the smart detections triggered by tamper or volume (sound), are securely recorded within Plustek NVR Slim388Pro and can be backup to central management through Plustek’s own in-house Multi-NVR Manager to achieve longer video retention periods,” said Lin.

Equipped with Plustek’s dual-stream technology and ONVIF compatibility, the NVR Slim388 Pro, efficiently connects to any third party VMS (video management software), or CMS (central management software) system, such as Milestone Xprotect for advanced video analysis and management. Furthermore, the unit comes with built-in GPIO (general-purpose I/O) and RS-232 interfaces, making advanced visual verification, access control and metadata integration possible.

Plustek’s NVRs supports IP cameras from major manufactures, such as Axis, Brickcom, Canon, Dynacolor, Etrovision, Panasonic, Sony, Vivotek, and etc.
