Comnet Europe launches high port capacity managed Ethernet switch

Leeds, West Yorkshire (UK)

Comnet Europe Ltd from Leeds in the UK, a USA-based manufacturer of fibre optic transmission and networking equipment, has introduced a new high port capacity managed Ethernet switch.
The Comnet CNGE28FX4TX24MSPOE is an environmentally hardened managed Ethernet switch that provides a high port density in a compact size. The all-new CNGE28FX4TX24MSPOE makes available twenty-four Gigabit copper TX ports and 4 Gigabit optical FX ports that utilise easily interchangeable small form factor pluggable optic (SFP) devices as optical interfaces. The twenty-four Gigabit TX ports are POE enabled and can provide up to 30 watts per POE port for a total of 400 watts.

Exclusive to this new generation of Comnet managed Ethernet switches is Comring, the latest network recovery technology that allows the network to re-route transmission in the event of a network interruption can restore the network in under 30 milliseconds. This environmentally hardened Ethernet switch is designed to operate in environments where extremes of temperature and vibration are a consideration

“The CNGE28FX4TX24MSPOE offers many very significant features,” Steve Clarke, Comnet Europe Managing Director. “The fact that it offers 28 Gbps ports and POE makes it ideal for high-bandwidth applications such as using megapixel or HD cameras that require POE (Power-over-Ethernet) for operation. Add in that these switches are hardened and can be used in the most extreme conditions makes it a great choice for difficult installations, ” Clarke concluded. Like all Comnet products, the CNGE28FX4TX24MSPOE is backed with a lifetime warranty.

“With the introduction of this new switch, we are just continuing to round out what is a very complete Ethernet product line,” said Skip Haight, Comnet VP of Marketing. “The product lines we’re introducing now are the result of years of experience."
