Bosch launches dome for discreet applications

Ottobrunn, Germany

Bosch Security Systems has enhanced its AutoDome range of sophisticated CCTV domes with the launch of the AutoDome Easy II - an affordable, easy to install PTZ camera system incorporating many features more typically associated with higher-end dome camera technologies according to Bosch.
From an installer perspective, intuitive set-up menus make the dome configuration quick and easy according to Dave Mulcahy, CCTV Products Manager: “Built-in IntuiKey support means that the new Easy II uses the same familiar keyboard and joystick commands as the rest of the Bosch AutoDome family,” he says, “as well as supporting Pelco P and D protocols.”

In terms of the end-user, the AutoDome Easy II is approximately 70 % smaller than traditional PTZ cameras and 20 % smaller than other compact domes, says Dave: “This makes it ideal for scenarios where discrete surveillance is required,” he says, “but where the customer cannot compromise on performance.”

Despite its compact design, the new dome provides variable pan and tilt speeds and an autopivot function to ensure optimum camera control and viewing at all zoom levels. The high performance 120x (10x optical/12x digital) zoom autofocus camera incorporates the latest digital imaging technology with excellent sensitivity and resolution. “It has no fewer than 99 user-defined pre-sets,” Dave adds, “as well as multiple tour and autopan modes.”

A single AutoDome Easy II provides as much coverage as four fixed mini domes and is priced lower than traditional PTZ dome cameras, Dave continues: “Investment is also protected because AutoDome Easy II easily integrates with the entire range of Bosch surveillance products including Allegiant matrix switchers, DiBos and Divar digital recorders, and the VIDOS IP-based video management system when used with a Bosch encoder.”

They have also been robustly tested as Dave concludes: “As with all of our products, the AutoDome Easy II has been subjected to the industry’s most comprehensive and demanding tests of endurance,” he says. “This includes highly accelerated life testing (HALT) to ensure its reliability for many years to come.”
