Bosch Security Systems has added a number of major Incorporating all the freely configurable features of its predecessor, the LSN improved version now offers a choice of more than 70 fire, intrusion and malfunction detectors, operator units and arming devices from eight different manufacturers. A wider range of LSN topologies can also be configured, with manual or automatic address assignment and employing shielded or unshielded two-wire cabling. The two 'improved' versions - LSN 300 and LSN 1500 - offer maximum loop currents of 300 mA and 1500 mA respectively, allowing a doubling of the number of devices that can be connected per loop to 254. In addition, the expanded loop length of the LSN 1500 to 3000 meters means a reduction in the number of loops required in installation. A powerful tool allows fast and flexible programming of system elements, and also incorporates a self-learn mode.
Network topology is equally flexible, with a choice of loop, stub or T-Tap - or a combination of all three. The bi-directional digital transmission enables continuous data exchange between detectors and control panel. The connection of additional detectors at any place on the bus for expansion at any time is easily possible. Current consumption is reduced through the LSN improved version's enhanced ASIC and new peripherals. In addition, element addresses have been made independent of the cable tree, which simplifies matching them with their locations. Most importantly, future proofing is ensured through upward and downward compatibility because all peripherals can be used with LSN 100 and new LSN 300/1500 versions of LSN panels.
New LSN improved version peripherals are the smoke detectors 420 and 520 series as well as Bosch's latest smoke aspiration system. New interface modules allow connection of conventional or wireless smoke detectors to the Local SecurityNetwork. Other variants of interface modules enable the supervision and control of external devices like audio or visual signaling devices or elevators. All the Bosch peripherals are based on intelligent technology and offer a host of features designed for maximum protection, and early warning and alarm in the presence of a fire.
Conforming to EN 54, EN 50131-1 Grade 4 and VdS Class C(German approval), as well as CE, UL and BS standards, Bosch's LSN improved version is the industry's foremost bus security solution combining outstanding performance and functionality with maximum reliability and affordable cost. LSN and LSN improved version are available in a choice of configurations to match all types and sizes of applications.
