The AXIS 233D is the world's first dome camera with progressive scan. In combination with an electronic image stabilizer that reduces the effect of camera vibrations caused by traffic or wind, the AXIS 233D delivers sharper images of moving objects than any other dome camera.

The AXIS 233D also has the fastest pan/tilt performance of any dome camera on the market with a maximum speed of 450º per second between any of the 100 available preset positions. In addition, it offers precision movement of 0.05º per second for slow tracking, making it possible to manually follow a walking person from a distance of 400 meters. The AXIS 233D also has the best zoom performance available with 35x optical and 12x digital zoom, in addition to area zoom, a unique feature that enables simple and instant zoom to any area of an image. The camera also provides E-flip, which electronically flips the image 180º when following a person walking under the dome.

In addition to day/night functionality and superb light sensitivity, the network dome camera provides 128x wide dynamic range, which allows details to be clearly captured in a scene with a wide variety of lighting conditions. The AXIS 233D delivers full frame rate video in all resolutions in MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG compression.

Other features include video motion detection, two-way audio, audio detection alarm, image upload, scheduled and triggered event functionality with alarm notification, four external input connections that can be used to trigger recording and alarms, and four relay outputs to control such things as doors and lights when an alarm is triggered. A comprehensive set of security features, including multiple user access levels, HTTPS encryption, IEEE 802.1X and IP address filtering ensures secure video handling and configuration. The camera also supports Quality of Service (QoS) and IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) and IPv4 addresses.

The AXIS 233D is delivered complete with indoor mounting accessories. (A separate housing is available for outdoor use.) The product is supported by the industry's largest base of application software through the Axis application development partner program, as well as the AXIS Camera Station video management software.
