Audio over fiber solves long distance transmission challenges

Danbury, Ct (USA)

Comnet, Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, a provider of fiber optic and Ethernet network solutions has introduced a new audio over fiber product designed to solve the challenge of transmitting audio over longer distances.
The Comnet ValueLine FVXATC1 transmitter and FVXARC1 receiver series transmit a single line-level audio and contact closure signal over one multimode or single mode optical fiber. This product is ideal for applications where standard line-level audio and contact need to be transported more than a few hundred feet. Applications such as public address announcements or broadcast-quality audio are ideal for the FVXAT/RC1.

The addition of audio transmission products to the Valueline series, gives our customers a more complete solution set. As more manufacturers scale down their product offering, Comnet continues to offer unique and cost-effective solutions to the market place.” said Andrew Acquarulo, Comnet President and COO.

“Our years of design experience have allowed us to develop a line of products that provide suburb performance. In addition, our manufacturing model allows us to produce this line in the USA. Together, these factors allow these products to be added to the ValueLine series,” Acquarulo continued.

“Introducing the Comnet lower cost audio product offering into the Valueline family makes sense from a product positioning perspective”, commented Frank Haight, Comnet Vice President of Marketing. “We’ve introduced a very complete fiber optic solution to the security and ITS markets in a very short time. Our products are innovative, environmentally hardened and offered a very high level of performance at competitive pricing. With this new addition to that product line, our customers can be assured of a quality product backed by a comprehensive warranty. It’s refreshing to know a US company can design and manufacture here in the US and offer a more cost-effective product than what’s available from lesser known companies or overseas suppliers”, Haight concluded.
