APS expo gets new look and new name for 2007

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

After four successful years, Air & Port Security Expo organisers The Simply Group has announced that the event is being re-launched with an expanded profile, a new name and at a new venue.

The 2007 event will be called TranSec World Expo and it will be taking place on 27 - 28 June at EXPO XXI in Amsterdam. To keep pace with a rapidly changing market, TranSec World Expo will also deliver more educational content than ever before and will broaden its appeal to a wider audience by covering all modes of transport security including aviation, maritime, rail, road and boarders.

Alongside the Expo, where over 100 leading vendors will showcase their latest dedicated security solutions and product launches, there will be a conference and a programme of three industry-specific workshops.

The conference will open with a plenary session featuring keynote speakers from the European commission and NATO. The theme will be 'Financing Security: Managing the cost and will examine how increased security measures have placed great demands on already stretched budgets. Meeting the threats and complying with legislation is a costly business so the top priority for today's security professionals is determining how to pay for new measures. The Conference will ask if this always has to be the case, and will aim to provide the answers to these questions.

Three industry-specific workshops will take place alongside TranSec World Expo for 'Aviation', 'Maritime' and 'Supply Chain Security'. These sessions will aim to examine best practice and are being developed and conducted in conjunction with the specific industrys' major bodies including World Customs Organisation. The workshops will be less formal than the main conference and will take a more intimate, consultation-led format.
