Outdoor IP camera from Hiqview

Taipei, Taiwan

The recently-released IP camera, HIQ-6587, by Hiqview has been produced especially for installing in extreme weather environments outdoors, for circumstances when users are seeking a robust product with good video quality.

According to the company, this high-end IP camera has some special features to make it stand from other outdoor cameras on the market today.  It generates 5 megapixel resolution images, meaning that almost every detail can be captured, such as the license plates when a vehicle accidents occur, the facial features of passengers on the pavement, and the visual state of important entries (e.g., warehouse door is open or closed).

In addition, the HIQ-6587 has been designed with a 3-9 mm 3X optical zoom lens allowing for real time zooming to give the HIQ-6387 more realistic and clearer images in high resolutions.

The smart focus system that is built in to the HIQ-6587 enables the camera to overcome two difficulties that allow it to perform better than many other outdoor IP cameras. One is the usual high maintenance costs and the other is the gradual loss of focus issue. To protect this type of camera from tampering, it is generally installed in places that are hard to access and therefore means that maintenance costs are generally high. The instability of temperatures outdoors would normally cause the camera components to compress unevenly, so the lens would shrink and swell from time to time. Soon the lens would lose its focus. In this Hiqview camera, the smart focus system allows users to control the lens remotely, and provides a user-friendly GUI for fine tuning the focus distance. Finally, the smart focus system can be adjusted and installed more easily.

In actual applications, image noise can be caused by many factors, such as power interference, heat, and dim light sources, resulting in ineffective surveillance results. The HIQ-6587 is designed to effectively remove image noise by applying DNR technology. It not only makes  for clearer images, but also reduces video file size.

The digital wide dynamic range (D-WDR) feature of the HIQ-6587 is designed to stand out in monitoring strong backlit or dimly lit environments. For example, if the camera faces the sun, and a man is standing in front of the camera, usually, because of the strong backlight, the man’s face would be too dark to identify. The D-WDR technology would use different exposures for different objects, making the light contrast much lower, and thus reveal the clear features of the man’s face. And, due to its robust design rated at IP66 for water-and dust-ingress, the HIQ-6587 IP camera has been engineered for stable performance in conditions with high humidity, heavy rain and dusty outdoor conditions.

"The sophisticated design of the HIQ-6587 not only guarantees high image quality, but also a robust shell to protect the camera. Though outdoor cameras will have to face many harsh situations, the HIQ-6587 is ready to confront them." said Mr. Frank Sheu, Gerneral Manager of Hiqview Corporation.
